How does Jewish film inspire and entertain artists and thinkers? BJFF 2015 focuses on films based on written works but here we are turning tables and taking a look at a film that shaped a writer. Newton resident Tova Mirvis is the author of three novels: Visible City, The Outside World and The Ladies’ Auxiliary. Much of Mirvis’ writing is based in her experiences living in Jewish communities in Memphis, New York, and Boston. But how have movies influenced Mirvis’ work? And what is the Jewish film that has most inspired her?
